The Bodices Course

About the Course:
This Course is only open to anyone who can already sew.  This includes beginners who have completed the Basic Sewing and Pattern Drafting Course.  Please note that if you cannot sew nor do understand pattern instructions, you would need to complete the Basic Course first before registering for this Course.

The Course is in two (2) stages; stage 1 is the Fundamentals of Bodice, stage 2 - the Advanced.  Each Part is a separate course meaning participants will register for each one separately.  Please note Part 1 is a prerequisite for part 2.

Basic Bodice Course
Take your fashion design education to the next level in this follow-up to Patternmaking Basics: The Skirt Courses. You will create about three different blocks (representing three different fit) of bodice, which you would test to ensure good fit. Then you'll go step-by-step through refining the fit. This would be done after you would have been taught how to take measurement properly, and also introduced to standard size measurements. With your block patterns perfectly customized, you'll put them to use as you find out how to make a working pattern, complete with wearing ease.

You would be introduced to basic manipulations of your block, including dart transfer, multiple darts, what adjustments to make when increasing the neckline, converting your dart to stylelines, empire line for maternity clothes… and many more.
Advanced Bodice Course
You would learn how to draft custom patterns, how to get creative with darts and seam lines, which you would use in creating designer garments that are uniquely yours.
Then, discover how to draft a world of striking silhouettes featuring princess seams, with beautiful fit around the bust. Finally, enjoy plenty of design inspiration as you are shown advanced bodice block manipulation techniques to create finished garments such as Drop sleeve, raglan, off-shoulder, illusion neckline, strapless dress, cowl neck, and… more.
