So free hand cutting and pattern making? Well I have been here and there, but I must confess my preference for pattern making, and I am also a huge fan of standard sizes. The Starter: Sewing and Pattern Drafting Course – Skirts covers an introduction to sewing and pattern drafting, and teach students on drafting and manipulating a basic skirt block resulting in a variety of skirts.  We'll look at how to draft flared skirts, including A–line flares and bias flares (mermaid skirt).  You'll also learn to make gathered and pleated skirts—specifically inverted box pleats, and knife pleats. We'll move on to going step–by–step through drafting different styles from the block.  You'll explore how to lower the waistline and add a contoured waistband (bask),  Create an empire (high waist) waistline complete with a facing.
