What I need to Know as I Begin Basic Sewing Course at OOTI

Hello, so you are about to commence classes at OOTI; GREAT!

Here are some advice for you.

Completion of the curriculum within the allotted time depends a lot on YOU. We would do our best and you are expected to give your best.

Expectations of your best include, but are not limited to these:
  •          Come early for classes; ensure you do not miss classes
  •          Do your assignments at home!
  •          Ensure class time is used to the maximum for class work, and not for socialization.


We advise you to get a sewing machine before or as soon as you start. This would enable you practice at home, and make clothes for your friends and family, which might not be possible in school, as you would be working on your class exercise.

***Coming late or missing class have repercussion, please the time for the class is between 4:00PM and 7:00PM, coming earlier than this time does not guarantee you an available sewing machine.

So free hand cutting and pattern making? Well I have been here and there, but I must confess my preference for pattern making, and I am also a huge fan of standard sizes. I hope that is not too much for a beginner. Ok let me take it one step at a time. Free hand cutting, I believe a large number of us would be aware of it, but we might not know its name.
