We are giving out 100 garments

So excited about this!

We have talked about doing this for some years now, thank God for being vocal about it, and being bold to always tweak the idea for making it work.

I am so excited about the persons we have chosen to manage the project this time around.


The ground work was done some weeks back, with the project managers visiting two orphanage homes to survey: measuring the children, taking note of the age range in the home, etc.

They came back with so much excitement contacted from the homes; the children do look forward to receiving our stylish makes. On our part, we are not going to disappoint them.

A step taken to ensure this works is the division of the work load amongst the volunteers. We have had persons bring in fabric to support the project.

It is really about spreading the smile, while working on project together (increasing team bond).

So free hand cutting and pattern making? Well I have been here and there, but I must confess my preference for pattern making, and I am also a huge fan of standard sizes. The Starter: Sewing and Pattern Drafting Course – Skirts covers an introduction to sewing and pattern drafting, and teach students on drafting and manipulating a basic skirt block resulting in a variety of skirts.  We'll look at how to draft flared skirts, including A–line flares and bias flares (mermaid skirt).  You'll also learn to make gathered and pleated skirts—specifically inverted box pleats, and knife pleats. We'll move on to going step–by–step through drafting different styles from the block.  You'll explore how to lower the waistline and add a contoured waistband (bask),  Create an empire (high waist) waistline complete with a facing.
