We are going through a Process of Change

We have come a long way in our Fashion training – teaching how to sew.

This year makes it 7 years (Wawu!! Can you believe I just realized while writing this blog post)

The way the Fashion School started was actually not part of the business plan; but we saw it as an opportunity and we then had to put it in the plan, as students were already waiting to resume. At that time, we put our best foot forward, in ensuring that we offered the best Fashion Training; that for us entailed offering a whole lot.

Our curriculum was so jam packed. We wanted our students to be very well equipped, and have all the knowledge.

Hmm, it seemed like we caused more harm than good, as our students were overwhelmed with knowledge (LOL).

At hindsight, we are grateful for our growth, for all those who have learnt with us, especially those who ensured they tell everyone they meet that OOTI is the go-to place in the city of Kano, to learn how to sew – our offering as always, is very worth it.

As we grew over the years, we have changed our curriculum several times, to be in synch with present day realities, and to ensure that our offering is in line with the need of our target audience – without overwhelming them (face covered).

It has been an exciting journey so far, and we are excited to inform you that we have a brand new curriculum for our Fashion School!!!

Previously, we offered four (4) courses; with the new curriculum, we are offering five (5) courses. This curriculum has been crafted in such a way that you can do any other course after completing our starter course, without any extras.

This should be particularly exciting for persons who already know how to sew, but would love to learn a specific garment – making use of patterns. For these persons, you would just need to go through our Starter Course, and then the specific course of choice.

With the new curriculum of OOTI, there has also been a reduction in time spent learning, so that your time is maximized. This has been made possible, as we have identified new ways to execute classes in a timely manner.

Are you excited about this already, because I am …LOL

Details regarding our new offering would be posted soon, so watch this space, and all our social media handles.

In the meantime, I would like to know your number one challenge as a beginner, learning to sew. Who knows, I might do a blog post, or even a video tutorial, to get your question answered

Talk to you soon

XOXO
