About Osas Olumese Training Institute (OOTI)

Osas Olumese Training Institute (OOTI) is an arm of Osas Olumese. It is a fashion school set out to equip students with sewing and pattern making skills in an efficient and effective way, fostering creativity, building individuals with knowledge and technical know-how needed to function in the Fashion industry.

 

Our Offering

We just increased our offering, and now offer two (3) courses in sewing and pattern drafting womenswear.

They are:

  • Basic – Intermediate Sewing and pattern drafting Course - womenswear
  • Sewing and pattern drafting Course - Jacket and Trouser womenswear
  • Corset Course (Short Course)
  • Advance Course in Sewing and pattern drafting Course – womenswear UPGRADE (Coming soon)

Basic – Intermediate Sewing and pattern drafting Course – womenswear

This course is designed for the fashion enthusiast, and those who may or may not have prior sewing knowledge, who are new to pattern making methods. The course covers a wide range of skirts; with the skirt block manipulated, alongside the student’s measurement, to come up with new and complex styles of skirts. Styles such as bias cut skirt, six-pieces, gathered, pleated skirts, would be analyzed and brought to life.

The close-fit bodice block is also manipulated in this course, resulting in more complex bodice styles- such as cowl neck, raglan, illusion neck off shoulder, etc.

The emphasis of this course is a fitted bodice.

 

Sewing and pattern drafting Course - Jacket and Trouser womenswear

This course is designed for persons who have knowledge in sewing and basic pattern drafting, and is interested in learning pattern drafting and sewing - female trousers and jacket.

In this course, we would make a trouser block and manipulate it, resulting in different styles – such as palazzo, high waisted trouser, culottes, pleated trouser, flared legs, wide leg pants, jumpsuit, etc.

We would also learn about Jackets and collars. We would be making a vest (monkey jacket), bomber jacket, double breasted jacket, Peter Pan collar, roll over collar, classic collars, etc.

 

Corset Course

This course is for an Advance designer, who already knows how to sew and cut fabric, into various designs (whether using patterns or free hand), who are looking to improve their skills and knowledge. He/ she must be ready to unlearn and relearn, in order to make the most of this experience.

For seamstresses or tailors who want to improve their skills and knowledge.

This practical course is for anyone who has a personal or professional interest in fashion, who would like to develop the knowledge and skills needed to produce their own made-to-measure corsets. The course will begin with a number of structured technical classes.

This course introduces the art of corsetry, exploring all its intricacies. Learn more, here.

The payment of 100% of your fees entitles you to a:

  • Course instruction
  • Sewing and cutting space
  • To be taught in line with the curriculum

Please note that all courses are practical, you will therefore be required to provide fabrics and other materials needed for the training and project. This is your responsibility.
