What a blog post title for the first post of the year... I thought about it too, but since I have an already  documented post, it can as well be the first for 2020. Happy New Year to you. New year 2020 Back to the crust of today's post Basically this post is about churning out well made clothes in short time frame. I had to force myself to think about this, as my work load grew. Although I can delegate things to get done, I am yet to grow past the feeling that I get it done it better. Don’t judge me, I will grow out of this. I must, to scale... my brand . I remember when I was a lot younger… I think I was in secondary school, my mother took me to a tailor to get measured for a garment. According to my mother, this tailor was on-point (you know what I mean) as in his work was beautiful. Learn how to sew at OOTIKano I cannot remember being so excited about it, but who would not love to have more clothe as a child. Fast forward to the day when I received the clothe…. My response was…Is this it? The finishing was poor, the fit was not it. We took it for a number of amendment, and at a point, I just stopped, thinking I would grow to meet the cloth over time LOL. This memory is what caused me to keep asking myself “there must be something more”, as I learnt how to make clothing using the free hand method of doing things. This questions led me to the answer - pattern making. I wanted the focus of my garment to have a lot of emphasis on its Fit and Finish . I would not say I have arrived, but I constantly want to out-do my last job...

The Starter: Sewing and Pattern Drafting Course – Skirts covers an introduction to sewing and pattern drafting, and teach students on drafting and manipulating a basic skirt block resulting in a variety of skirts.  We'll look at how to draft flared skirts, including A–line flares and bias flares (mermaid skirt).  You'll also learn to make gathered and pleated skirts—specifically inverted box pleats, and knife pleats. We'll move on to going step–by–step through drafting different styles from the block.  You'll explore how to lower the waistline and add a contoured waistband (bask),  Create an empire (high waist) waistline complete with a facing. We would sincerely like to appreciate you for choosing us in your pursuit for sewing and pattern drafting knowledge. We would love to inform you of some changes that would be effected in 2018. We have made changes to the curriculum we have been using, and are excited about this. Our course offering .has reduced to four courses, and they are: Starter: Sewing and Pattern Drafting Course – Skirts Sewing and Pattern Drafting Course – Bodice Jacket Making Course Trouser Making Course For details on the courses, please check the Course Page Tab Each course would run for four to eight (4 - 8) weeks, four times weekly. In order to maximize the available space, two courses would run almost concurrently, with one running between the hours of 9:00am and 1:30pm (Tuesdays to Fridays), while the other would run between the hours of 11:00am and 3:30pm (Mondays to Thursdays).
