A habit one forms, leads to character Anything worth doing at all is worth doing well My Mother I remember these words of my mother while growing up; even till this day she keeps saying it. While growing up, on hearing these words, I would feel like pulling out my hair, as most times the words are provoked by a poorly done chore. Mummy always loved work to be done to perfection, and she doesn't accept anything less. If she notices any imperfections, she will voice out those words of hers. These words framed my work habit, thus I ensured that whatever I did, I do it in the best possible way I know it can be done. I notice that persons who learn the skill of sewing in a haphazard manner, always find it difficult to change the narrative when they become experts. The truth is that you bring your personality and your work habit into anything you do, and learning a skill also. A conscious effort to put your best from the start... What a blog post title for the first post of the year... I thought about it too, but since I have an already  documented post, it can as well be the first for 2020. Happy New Year to you. Thank you for making 2019 count for us, Lets together make 2020 outstanding. New year 2020 Back to the crust of today's post Basically this post is about churning out well made clothes in short time frame. I had to force myself to think about this, as my work load grew. Although I can delegate things to get done, I am yet to grow past the feeling that I get it done it better. Don’t judge me, I will grow out of this. I must, to scale... my brand . Back to the point of this blog post… so when I need to get more done in a short period of time, what I do is... division of labour (thankful for that topic in economics). I do have apprentice that I may not be comfortable giving them the whole garment to do, but I trust their ironing skill, straight line sewing skill,

This sounds funny to me, cause I always say this to my girls. On Wednesday,  I also had this conversation with one of the girls who worked in one of the shops in my business place. The truth is that we are all getting older, but a lot of times,  we are not conscious of this fact. I am conscious of this, but yesterday,  it dawned on me in a whole new light. I had a conversation with my elder sister, and she mentioned those words to me. This is a reality check, I am grateful for, especially as it was directed to me... I started learning how to sew as a teenager, and the skill has brought me thus far. Even though I am happy looking back, this reality check makes me realise, the new territories yet to be conquered. I again remind myself that I have to face my fears. Yes, I do have fears, and a lot of times it has kept me at a stand still, or even paralysed... Moving forward,  would always require acting in spite of fear. Hmmmm. .. What more can I say....

This has been a struggle, since I started business... I just want to know where the money is coming from and where it is going to. I have used pen and paper, books, apps, excel sheet. I would start, and then begin asking myself, what the point was, as  I never had the time (or more like ..patience) to go through the expenses, to find out what we were spending money on, if the expenses made business sense, if we could reduce or eliminate the expense (typing this blog post, I just thought of a way we could task our office neighbours to contribute in reducing our water expenses)... things like that...
